When Nobody was released in 2021, it flipped the “retired badass” trope on its head with brutal efficiency and a wicked sense of humour. Now, four years later the trailer for the sequel, Nobody 2 is brought to you by Timo Tjahjanto. If you are looking for a thrilling blend of dark humour, relentless action, and unexpected family dynamics, this will be right up your alley.
Nobody 2 bring’s Hutch Mansell (Bob Odenkirk) and his bruised, bloodied knuckles back to the big screen. Set to release in theatres on August 15, 2025, the sequel sees the seemingly ordinary suburban dad with a lethal past back in action. This time, Hutch attempts to enjoy a peaceful family vacation in the quaint town of Plummerville with wife Becca (Connie Nielsen), dad David (Christopher Lloyd), and his kids (Munroe and Cadorath)
However, his “peace” is short-lived by a series of encounters with a crooked theme park owner (John Ortiz), a bent lawman (Colin Hanks), and a formidable new antagonist portrayed by Sharon Stone. The trailer showcases Hutch’s swift return to his violent ways when his children are threatened, delivering intense fight sequences and a dose of sardonic wit.
Some of the action includes Hutch wailing on an employee with a teddy picker, a whack-a-mole hammer, and the glass top of a pinball machine. From there, things quickly go from bad to worse as the families holiday is put on hold while he goes to work, scrapping on day-tripper boats, roping in brother Harry (RZA) when things get heavy, and going toe-to-toe with a purple-spectacled Stone, who will stop at nothing to find him.
The trailer promises bloodier brawls, sharper wit, and higher emotional stakes. Hutch Mansell’s vacation-gone-wrong might be the action ride of the summer, because this “nobody” is about to remind everyone why you don’t mess with a man who’s been to the edge and back.
