Blue Fox Ent. and Saban Films have released a trailer for a new shark horror-thriller titled “Fear Below”, that is gritty, moody, and dripping with tension. From director Matthew Holmes (The Legend Of Ben Hall, The Cost), the upcoming movie transports us back in time to the shark-infested waters of 1940s Australia.

The movie is set in 1946 Australia, a struggling team of divers from the Sea Dog Diving Company are hired to locate and retrieve a sunken car in a river. But when their salvage mission gets rudely interrupted by a notoriously cranky female bull shark, the divers soon realise they’ve signed up for more than just murky waters. This sets the stage for a tense and claustrophobic underwater nightmare.

Turns out, their employers are a ruthless gang of criminals hell-bent on retrieving their stolen gold—and they’re every bit as deadly as the finned nightmare circling below. Caught between a deadly predator and even deadlier humans the divers seem to have no way out.

The film’s unique setting in post-war Australia adds a fresh twist to the shark thriller genre. The divers’ vintage gear, hefty copper helmets and cumbersome suits adds a layer of claustrophobia and authenticity to the underwater scenes.

The cast, includes Hermione Corfield, Jake Ryan, and Josh McConville. These individuals bring depth to their roles, portraying characters caught between the threats above and below the waterline. The film doesn’t shy away from highlighting the treachery of human greed, suggesting that the real monsters might be on land.

Fear Below promises a thrilling dive into a world where the dangers of the deep are matched only by the perils on shore. It’s a refreshing take on the shark thriller, combining period drama with edge-of-your-seat horror
