The trailer for the upcoming revenge thriller portrays Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody) as Charlie Heller, a CIA decoder, whose life is shattered by the sudden and violent death of his wife (Rachel Brosnahan) in a terrorist attack. Being the deeply introverted man that he is, Charlie must hone his skills, the little that he has to be able to serve justice without the assistance of the CIA who reject his pleas for help.
Charlie takes matters into his own hands and plunges into the dangerous chase, risking everything to find those who wronged him. His intelligence becomes his weapon, that helps him to evade capture and hunt down those responsible and exact his revenge. We see the CIA struggling to keep tabs on Charlie’s whereabouts as he goes rogue and deals out death in increasingly inventive ways
Despite its title, “The Amateur” trailer looks like a polished, high-stakes thriller, Directed by James Hawes that promises a tight espionage narrative.
Adding to the star studded cast is Laurence Fishburne, Caitríona Balfe, Jon Bernthal, Michael Stuhlbarg, Holt McCallany, Julianne Nicholson, Adrian Martinez and Danny Sapani.
