Over 250,000 People Gave a Skeleton Boobs in Baldur’s Gate 3 And Yes, Larian Noticed.

In a world full of elves, tieflings, and dragonborn, it turns out the real fantasy for some Baldur’s Gate 3 players is giving Withers a pair of “big naturals.”

No, seriously. That’s not clickbait. That’s Larian-approved data.

A joke mod went viral and became part of the game’s legacy

To celebrate BG3’s two-year anniversary, Larian dropped some delightfully unhinged player stats. Among the wildest is that over 248,000 players have downloaded a mod called “Withers Big Naturals,” which gives the game’s spooky undead cleric a highly exaggerated bust.

Withers, the ancient, creepy NPC who chills in your camp like a skeletal HR manager, now has bounce physics.

The mod was created by Adam Lightfoot (AtoZLightfoot Studios) and started as a joke between friends. “I feel like it’s unplayable without it,” he told Polygon. And apparently, a quarter million people agree. The mod dropped shortly after Larian launched official modding tools in September 2024 and has become one of the most downloaded gag mods on PC.

    Larian’s reaction? Absolute legend behavior.

Instead of ignoring the chaos, Larian did what only a confident studio can do. They embraced it.

In their official anniversary update, they gave the mod a direct nod with the line:

    “You are modding naturals.”

Perfectly executed. They turned a ridiculous fan creation into part of the lore.

    The numbers behind the nonsense

To be fair, Withers Big Naturals is just one of more than 8,500 mods now available through BG3’s Nexus-powered modding system. Since mod support launched:

    • Total mod downloads: 265 million
    • Estimated number of mod users: Over 7.5 million
    • Cross-platform players: Around 500,000
    • Players who’ve explored all classes via Withers: 2.3 percent
    • Players who adopted a child with Wyll: Fewer than 600

Also worth noting: only about 2 percent of players have managed to win a fight while drunk. And 8.2 percent discovered you can throw enemies at each other like it’s a fantasy wrestling match.

    Geekhub take

What’s amazing isn’t just that someone made a jiggly-chested skeleton mod. It’s that Larian celebrated it. They understand that player creativity, especially the absurd and meme-worthy kind, is a core part of gaming culture today.

This isn’t just about tweaking graphics or adding quality-of-life changes. It’s about turning a game you love into your own strange little sandbox.

The best RPGs aren’t just played. They’re remixed, reimagined, and occasionally re-boobed by the community.
