Microsoft has just dropped its latest tech marvels—Copilot+ PC Surface devices—powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, and they’re making waves in South Africa. Designed to handle the heavy lifting of artificial intelligence (AI) workloads, these devices pack Qualcomm’s advanced neural processing unit (NPU) into their system on chip (SoC), enabling them to process up to 40 TOPS (trillion operations per second) without breaking a sweat on battery life.

These new Surface devices are rolling out with a suite of game-changing features. Cocreator, for instance, crafts and fine-tunes AI images in real time, while Live Captions translates video content into 44 languages, making it a game-changer for multilingual communities.

You can get your hands on the Microsoft Surface Pro 11th Edition Copilot+ PC and the Microsoft Surface Laptop 7th Edition Copilot+ PC at Incredible Connection right now. They’ll be hitting shelves soon at Makro, Amazon, Takealot, Evetech, and Braintree—so there’s no shortage of places to snag these tech gems.

Talia Naidoo, Surface category manager at Microsoft South Africa, is buzzing about how these devices are set to transform productivity. “In the past year, AI has surged forward at an unbelievable pace. Microsoft Copilot has enabled us to achieve what was once thought impossible. Now, with our first-ever Copilot+ PCs from Surface, we’re turning a new page in AI innovation,” Naidoo says, clearly excited about the future.

The Surface Pro 11th Edition Copilot+ PC comes with an optional OLED display, a feature that’s sure to impress with its vibrant colors. With the new Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus processors, it’s a whopping 90% faster than the previous Surface Pro 9. Plus, when docked, it supports fast connectivity with WiFi 7 and can link up to three 4K monitors—perfect for multitasking. It’s got a battery life of up to 14 hours, ideal for those long days.

On the other hand, the Surface Laptop 7th Edition Copilot+ PC, also driven by the Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus processors, offers a brighter screen, more ports, and the same speedy WiFi 7 connectivity. Its battery lasts up to 22 hours, making it a powerhouse for both work and play. It comes in two sizes: a 13.8-inch display and a 15-inch display—ideal for every need, from casual browsing to intense graphic design.

Both devices are built with security in mind. Naidoo explains, “At Microsoft, we believe the best way to protect data is to secure the entire PC. All Copilot+ PCs are Secured-core PCs, which means they come with top-tier security for both commercial and personal use. Alongside the robust protection of Windows 11, Secured-core PCs feature advanced firmware safeguards and dynamic root-of-trust measurement to ensure security from chip to cloud.”

Additionally, every Copilot+ PC will be equipped with Microsoft’s Pluton security processor. This chip-to-cloud security technology—crafted by Microsoft and its silicon partners—embodies Zero Trust principles, making it much harder for anyone to breach your device. Even if malware gets installed or if someone gets their hands on your PC, Pluton ensures that your credentials, identities, and personal data are locked down tight. The new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop will also come with Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-in Security (ESS) for biometric logins.

Looking at the price tags, the Microsoft Surface Pro 11th Edition Copilot+ PC starts at R29,999, while the Surface Laptop 7th Edition Copilot+ PC is priced from R26,999. And the best part? These cutting-edge Surface devices will soon be available with Intel and AMD processors as well, so there’s something for everyone.
