HONOR Debuts at Africa Tech Festival as Gold Sponsor

Chinese tech giant Honor, known for its innovative smartphones and AI technology, is thrilled to announce its first-ever appearance as a Gold Sponsor at Africa Tech Festival 2024. This marks a significant step for the company as it seeks to expand its presence in the vibrant African tech scene.

Africa Tech Festival, now a landmark event in its 27th year, is set to draw a crowd of over 15,000 attendees, 400+ speakers, and 300 exhibitors from across Africa and the globe. This gathering serves as a crucial platform for industry leaders, innovators, and experts to discuss the future of technology in Africa and collaborate on solutions that will shape the continent’s digital transformation.

At the festival, Honor will showcase its latest advancements in mobile technology, including cutting-edge foldable smartphones, its flagship smartphone series, and AI-powered devices designed to enhance accessibility and user experience. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience these innovations firsthand and explore their potential to drive progress in Africa.

“We are excited to make our debut as a Gold Sponsor at Africa Tech Festival,” said Fred Zhou, General Manager of HONOR Technologies Africa. “Africa is a growing and vibrant market, and our participation in this festival allows us to connect with industry leaders and explore how we can further drive digital inclusion and innovation across the continent.”

As part of its showcase, HONOR will also host a fireside chat on 12 November from 15h15-15h45pm at the AfricaCom: Telcos of Tomorrow featuring key industry partners Google and Cell C. The discussion, titled “The Future of the Smartphone Industry,” will delve into how AI and foldable smartphones are set to revolutionize the African market and improve people’s lives. Experts from HONOR, Google, and Cell C will explore ways to sustain the rapid smartphone growth in Africa through multi-stakeholder collaboration and the role these technologies will play in boosting digital inclusion and connectivity across the continent.

The company’s participation in Africa Tech Festival underscores its dedication to investing in the region. With investments to the tune of R400 million already made in South Africa, actively supporting programs that empower youth and foster technological skills, further solidifying its commitment to the continent’s tech ecosystem.

Visitors to the festival can engage with Honor at its interactive booth, where they can explore the latest smartphones, wearables, tablets, and laptops. With a focus on AI integration and foldable technology, Honor is poised to play a leading role in shaping the future of tech in Africa.

Africa Tech Festival will take place from November 12th to 14th at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), offering a dynamic platform for discussions on digital strategy and the future of African technology.

Geekhub will be covering this exciting event as a guest of HONOR Technologies South Africa and we can’t wait to see you there!
