Xiaomi 15 Ultra Leaked: A Flagship Beast in the Making—But Is It Enough?

It wouldn’t be a proper Xiaomi launch without a premature leak, would it? This time, a Russian retailer jumped the gun, casually uploading official press images of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra before quickly yanking them down. But, as always, the internet never forgets. Now, with high-resolution images and key specs out in the wild, we have a solid look at Xiaomi’s next ultra-premium flagship.

Design: Familiar, But With a Twist

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra plays it safe with two primary colorways: White and Black. Nothing shocking there. But what does stand out? The Black variant gets a striking red accent around its circular camera module—because apparently, Xiaomi wants you to know it’s serious about photography.

The phone itself sticks to a refined, minimalistic aesthetic, sporting a flat frame with softened edges, reminiscent of last year’s Xiaomi 14 Ultra. No radical changes, just subtle refinements. That said, it still screams “flagship” at first glance.

    Cameras: Overkill or Just Right?

Xiaomi is once again swinging for the fences with its camera hardware. The 15 Ultra’s quad-camera setup reads like a spec sheet on steroids:

    • 50MP main, ultrawide, and telephoto sensors—because why settle for one?
    • A ridiculous 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 4.3× optical zoom. More megapixels than most people know what to do with.
    • A 1-inch-type primary sensor that’s supposedly tuned for insane low-light performance.

If these specs translate into real-world excellence, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra might be gunning for the mobile photography throne. But as always, megapixels alone don’t tell the full story—let’s see if Xiaomi nails the software processing too.

Performance & Display: As Premium as It Gets

Under the hood, you’re looking at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, a chipset that promises enough firepower to crush anything you throw at it.

Then there’s the 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED display—3200×1440 resolution, adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz, and wrapped in Xiaomi’s latest Shield Glass 2.0. Translation: It’ll look gorgeous, feel smooth, and hopefully won’t shatter the second it meets pavement.

Battery & Charging: The Good, The Questionable

Here’s where things get interesting. Depending on where you live, you’ll either get a 5,410mAh battery or massive 6,000mAh cell (China wins this round, apparently). Either way, Xiaomi is backing it up with 90W wired and up to 80W wireless charging, meaning you’ll be back to 100% before your coffee even cools down.

Price & Availability: Premium Pricing, Naturally

According to the leaked retailer listing, the 16GB RAM + 512GB model could cost around 130,000 RUB (~$1,400 / €1,300) in Russia, with European pricing expected to hit €1,500 for the same variant. As for South Africa, we will just have to wait and see.

As for the official launch? Xiaomi is reportedly gearing up for a China debut in late February, with the global reveal set for March 2, 2025, likely at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona. Expect pre-orders to open soon after.

Final Thoughts: The Next Ultra King?

With leaks coming from every direction—certification listings, retailers, and even Weibo—one thing is clear: Xiaomi is about to drop a serious flagship contender. The question is, can the 15 Ultra justify its premium price tag, or is it just another spec-sheet flex?

Stay tuned—because if this thing is as good as it looks, Samsung and Apple might have something to worry about.
