When all trust is lost, how do you move forward? This is the theme of “ASH”, a  sci-fi horror adventure acquired by RLJE Films and Shudder from Grammy Award Winner and filmmaker Flying Lotus (aka Steven Ellison). Eiza González (3 Body Problem) and Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) are ready to take you on a sci-fi ride. Packed with vibrant visuals, cutting-edge technology, bizarre creatures, and plenty of mystery, this promises to keep you entertained for the full duration of the movie.

The trailer, shows the disorientated character of González(Riya) waking up in a spaceship on a mysterious distant planet. Discovering that the bodies of her crew have been brutally murdered she is left in a haze. With blood and gore smeared all around her, Riya struggles with the recollection of events that have led to this most horrific moment. With amnesia having taken over, Riya has no knowledge of who or where she is and how she got there. Her memory seems to jolt her every so often with visions that seem familiar, to little avail. All she knows is that there is nobody left who can be trusted.

A stranger named Brion (Paul), arrives on the scene to rescue her, claiming to be a friend. But is he really who he says he is, can she believe him after everything that has transpired? When things don’t add up, Riya starts investigating into what has happened, setting in motion a terrifying chain of events. An ordeal of psychological and physical terror ensues. Leaving Riya and Brion to answer, the ultimate question. Can they trust each other to survive?

Ash is written by Jonni Remmler and will feature an eerie original soundscape to accompany the hellish imagery, composed by Flying Lotus, whose previous films include the Shudder Original KUSO and a segment in V/H/S/99. Adding to the cast are Iko Uwais (The Raid: Redemption), Beulah Koale, and Kate Elliott.

With trust hanging by a thread and danger lurking in every shadow, this Flying Lotus horror thriller promises a gripping descent into paranoia, survival, and facing the unknown. As Riya pieces together the truth, one question remains—when you can’t trust anyone, how do you make it out alive? Prepare for a a sci-fi horror adventure that plunges viewers into a world of psychological terror and cosmic mystery.

It’s been a year of creative freedom, storytelling, and loving what I do—plus the occasional dramatic reaction to plot twists. No more meetings, just movies—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
