Welcome back to the wild side! Just when we thought Zootopia had told its last furry fable 9 years ago, Disney roars back with a teaser for Zootopia 2. The first trailer brings more bite, bounce, music and mystery. If you thought Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde were done cracking cases, think again. The trailer dropped like a sly fox in the henhouse, and fans everywhere are paws-itively losing it.
Disney has finally unveiled the teaser trailer for Zootopia 2, set to premiere on November 26, 2025. This sequel brings back beloved characters and introduces new ones, promising an exciting continuation of the franchise. Zootopia, which was released in 2016, tells the story of a rabbit police officer named Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) who partnered with a con artist fox, Nick (Jason Bateman), to crack the case of the missing animals.
Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, Zootopia 2 reunites the rookie cops from the Zootopia P.D., as they find themselves on the twisting trail of a great mystery. The trailer skips dialogue entirely, kicking off with a quirky trio of hamsters jamming out on electric keyboards. Their synth beat becomes the pulse of the entire teaser, setting a slick, energetic tone.
Judy and Nick are at it once again. Hitting the streets, swamps and deserts alongside a mysterious new character. A smooth, slippery snake, known as Gary De’Snake, who will be voiced by Oscar-winner Ke Huy Quan. As they venture through Zootopia’s diverse ecosystems, uncovering secrets and navigating challenges, their partnership is tested. The trio is hotly pursued by a squad of relentless rhinoceros cops, hinting at a wild chase and an even wilder plot to come.
The Zootopia 2 teaser successfully builds anticipation without revealing too much. Its unique approach, combined with the return of favourite characters and the introduction of intriguing new ones, sets the stage for a sequel that could match or even surpass the original. I for one am eagerly awaiting its release this November. Also featuring the voices of Fortune Feimster, Quinta Brunson and Shakira, who returns as Gazelle, Zootopia 2 is produced by Yvett Merino.
