The Meet the Parents saga is officially back, and the Focker clan is about to get even bigger. The long-awaited sequel, now titled Focker-in-Law, just dropped its first teaser, confirming both a release date and a surprising new addition to the cast from the world of Wicked.
The film’s official social media revealed that Focker-in-Law will hit theaters on November 25, 2026. Returning to the screen are Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner, and Teri Polo, with fresh faces Ariana Grande and Beanie Feldstein joining the chaos. Superman star Skyler Gisondo is in talks to play Stiller and Polo’s on-screen son, who happens to be engaged to Grande’s character.
Set 15 years after Little Fockers, the new installment sees Stiller stepping into a familiar role of being the overprotective father, skeptical of his son’s fiancée, much like De Niro’s iconic character in the original film. While plot details are yet to be disclosed, it’s clear the story centers on Gisondo’s character and his outspoken bride-to-be (Grande), whose strong personality puts her at odds with the Focker parents. But if history is any guide, she might just win them over by the end.
One of the most intriguing elements of this sequel is the role reversal. Stiller, now about the same age De Niro was during the 2000 classic, gets to experience the parental grilling from the other side. Director John Hamburg, who waited 15 years for the right story, believes this flip in perspective finally makes the sequel worth telling.
If Gisondo officially signs on, he and Grande will be at the heart of the film, echoing the dynamic that made the original so memorable. The hope is that this next chapter not only brings laughs to longtime fans but also sets the stage for future films aimed at a new generation, while sidestepping the missteps that critics pinned on Meet the Fockers and Little Fockers.
