Bad Guys 2 Delivers Action, Humour, and a Sly Kitty Kat You’ll Love to Hate

Over the weekend, my husband and I took the kids to watch Bad Guys 2, and let me just say, what an absolute treat. From the very first frame, the film pulled me in and never let go, something I can’t say about most recent animated releases.

The animation is nothing short of stunning. Every detail, from the vibrant cityscapes to the slick action sequences simply burst with energy and style.    It is clear that Pierre Perifel and JP Sans poured their hearts into every frame, making it impossible to look away. But of course, the real magic came from the characters. They were sharper and more charismatic than ever. Each of them felt alive, full of personality, and perfectly balanced in the story.

Wolf, as always, is the beating heart of the story, suave, sharp, and with that perfect mix of charm and vulnerability. Snake is still the sarcastic realist of the crew, delivering biting one-liners that land every time. Shark, with his oversized grin and larger-than-life personality, brings an endearing silliness to the team, while Piranha’s hot-headed nature keeps things unpredictable. Tarantula, quick-witted and tech-savvy, proves yet again she’s the glue that keeps the operation running smoothly.

And then there’s Kitty Kat, clever, confident, and absolutely deceitful in the most delicious way. She’s the kind of character who can smile sweetly while pulling the rug right out from under you, and her schemes add an extra layer of tension and fun to the plot. Every scene she’s in feels sharper and more dangerous, keeping both the audience and the Bad Guys themselves on their toes.

The plot is fantastic, tight, clever, and brimming with twists that kept both me and my family hooked until the very end. There was never a dull moment. The pacing was spot-on, with a perfect balance of action, humour, and heart. The stakes felt real, the humour lands, and the message about trust, friendship, and redemption gives the film genuine emotional weight.

Bad Guys 2 is more than just a worthy sequel, it’s a high-energy, smartly written, and visually spectacular ride that proves animated films can be just as thrilling and immersive as live-action blockbusters. Whether you’re a kid, a parent, or just someone who loves great storytelling, this one’s an absolute must-watch.

After 28 years in corporate life, I swapped spreadsheets for screenplays and now write movie reviews and celebrity articles for Geekhub. It’s been a year of creative freedom, storytelling, and loving what I do—plus the occasional dramatic reaction to plot twists. No more meetings, just movies—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
