Following the strong critical response and box-office success of Final Destination: Bloodlines earlier this year, fans of the horror franchise have reason to be excited. A seventh installment in the Final Destination series has been officially announced by Warner Bros and New Line Cinema, and the returning scribe is none other than Bloodlines co-writer Lori Evans Taylor.
Although the new sequel remains untitled while in development, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed Taylor’s return to pen the story. She co-authored Bloodlines with Ready or Not writer Guy Busick, and their collaborative rhythm helped deliver the franchise’s most compelling revival since 2011’s Final Destination 5.
While Taylor is on board, Busick’s involvement remains unconfirmed. It is equally unclear whether directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein will return, though their work on Bloodlines earned fandom praise for its fresh energy and faithful allegiance to the series’ signature chain-reaction violence.
The Bloodlines finale left no survivors as Stefani, Charlie, and the rest of the central cast all succumbed in chilling fashion. Even the iconic William Bludworth, played by the late Tony Todd, met his end in a poignant farewell. With the slate clean, the next film opens a wide canvas for a new cast, storyline and inventive death set-pieces.

There is room for speculation about what shape the sequel will take. Could the new film be a period-set prequel or perhaps lean into earlier ideas of a Final Destination focusing on first responders? Perhaps Stefani and Charlie’s demise might have been another elaborate premonition, setting the stage for a new lineage under Death’s ever-watchful gaze.
We have already learn’t that Bloodlines achieved both critical acclaim and commercial success. It earned around $285 million globally and scored an impressive 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, proving the franchise still holds formidable power in the horror genre.
Additionally, a summary from the industry highlights that a group of longtime producers is returning. Craig Perry, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, Jon Watts, Dianne McGunigle, and Toby Emmerich will again serve as producers. Warren Zide is expected to come on board as executive producer, offering continuity to the production team.
With Final Destination 7 officially in development, Lori Evans Taylor writing, you can expect a new, chilling chapter packed with suspense, death-trap ingenuity and potential new directions for the franchise. With no survivors from Bloodlines, the creative and narrative possibilities are endless.
