NBCUniversal International Networks & Direct-To-Consumer announced that Bravo Africa will officially launch on Tuesday, 7 October 2025, replacing E! Africa across DStv platforms, even on the DStv Access package. This brings a new era of unscripted entertainment to viewers.

A Bold Rebrand for Reality TV Lovers

NBCUniversal is expanding its Bravo brand which has become known globally for its polished and unabashed reality programming, into the African market. This rebrand builds upon E! Africa’s growing Bravo content to offer subscribers a richer, more branded reality TV experience.

Hendrik McDermott, MD of Hayu, EMEA Networks & International Direct-To-Consumer at NBCUniversal, stated:

“…this rebrand reflects the strong slate of Bravo programming that had already been added to E!, and now makes exclusive original programming and a wider selection of Bravo’s immensely popular reality programmes available to DStv subscribers.”

Byron du Plessis, CEO of MultiChoice South Africa, added:

“DStv subscribers that are fans of great reality programming are going to love Bravo Africa… The channel will be available down to DStv Access, as we continue to improve our customer value proposition across our packages.”

What’s on the Bravo Africa Lineup?

Right from the get-go, Bravo Africa promises a strong blend of both local hits and international favourites:

    • Dating #NoFilter South Africa – Season 2
This return of the hit local dating series will feature comedians delivering real-time commentary on blind dates across South Africa. The show is scheduled to premiere on Saturday, 11 October at 18:00
    • The Real Housewives of London
This exclusive territory premiere marks the 30th international iteration of the celebrated Real Housewives franchise. It will debut Sunday, 12 October at 19:00, offering viewers a glimpse into London’s elite social circles, starring six glamorous cast members.
    • The Real Housewives franchises (Atlanta, DC, Salt Lake City)
Fans of the series can look forward to new episodes as part of the expanded roster.
    • Below Deck franchise
Including seasons like Sailing Yacht, Mediterranean, and Down Under, this sea-faring drama will also join Bravo Africa’s offerings
    • Married to Medicine, Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Botched: Plastic Surgery Rewind
These established reality staples will broaden the network’s appeal, covering everything from medicine to late-night talk and celebrity transformations.

    Availability and Access

Bravo Africa will be broadcast on DStv channel 124 and accessible to viewers on DStv Access and higher packages with the aim of making high-profile reality content available to a broader audience. Some reports such as those from Underground Press also mention pricing from R99/month, though viewers should check DStv’s official channels for the most current subscription details.

A Reality TV Revolution in Africa

With Bravo Africa set to launch on 7 October 2025, viewers across the continent, especially those tuned into DStv can anticipate a fresh, bold era of reality television. From homegrown laughter in Dating #NoFilter South Africa, to international glamour in The Real Housewives of London, and high-stakes drama aboard Below Deck, Bravo Africa promises “drama, glitz, and guilty-pleasure TV” at every turn. Stay tuned as reality TV gets a brand-new, unapologetically vibrant home right here in Africa.
