Sony just dropped a PS5 system update that fixes one of the most annoying things about the DualSense: until now, every time you wanted to switch from your console to your PC or phone, you had to unpair and re-pair like it was still 2010. Not anymore.
One Controller, Four Homes
The DualSense can now stay paired with up to four different devices at once according to playstation blog. Think PS5, PS5 Pro, your PC, and maybe your iPad for Remote Play — all saved and ready to go. Switching is as simple as holding the PS button plus one of the face buttons (Triangle, Circle, Cross, or Square). Each combo is basically a shortcut to the device you’ve assigned. Lights on the controller will blink to tell you which “slot” you’re in.
No more fiddling with Bluetooth menus every time. It’s instant.

Power Saver Mode Arrives
Sony also introduced a Power Saver option for the PS5 and PS5 Pro. Toggle it in Settings, and supported games will dial back performance to cut down on energy use.
What that means in practice:
- Lower power draw, less heat, potentially quieter fans.
- Some performance and features scaled down.
- VR isn’t supported in this mode.
It’s clearly part of Sony’s push to be greener, but it’ll be up to you to decide if saving watts is worth sacrificing some graphical punch.
Why It Matters
For gamers who live across multiple ecosystems — console, PC, mobile — this update is a genuine quality-of-life win. It makes the DualSense feel less locked down and way more versatile. The Power Saver mode? That’s more niche, but it’s a step toward sustainability in gaming, even if hardcore players may leave it off.
💡 Geekhub take: This is the kind of update that should have been there from day one. Still, it’s here now, and it makes owning a DualSense a lot less of a hassle.
