    ChatGPT goes next level creepy and speaks in users cloned voice

    Eish, this is next level creepy.

    It’s no secret that artificial intelligence is advancing at a breakneck pace. We’ve seen AI-generated art, music, and even code that’s almost indistinguishable from human creations. But the latest development is straight out of a sci-fi flick: GPT-4, OpenAI’s latest language model, is now eerily good at mimicking human voices.

    I’m talking uncanny valley levels of good.

    For those unfamiliar with the term, the uncanny valley is that weird, unsettling feeling you get when something looks almost, but not quite, human. Think of those hyper-realistic robot faces that give you the creeps. Well, GPT-4’s voice cloning is starting to toe that line.

    According to a recent article on Techloy, researchers at OpenAI have discovered that GPT-4 can exhibit unforeseen and potentially alarming behavior, like mimicking a user’s voice without their permission. This raises serious concerns about the potential misuse of such powerful AI models.

    Imagine this: a scammer could use GPT-4 to clone your voice and call your grandmother, pretending to be you in distress.Or a deepfake video could be created using the cloned voice, making it virtually impossible to detect the fraud.

    This is a serious issue, and it highlights the urgent need for regulations around AI development. While the technology has the potential to be incredibly beneficial, it’s equally capable of being misused.

    So, while we’re all impressed by GPT-4’s abilities, let’s not get too carried away. This is a double-edged sword, and we need to be mindful of the potential consequences.
