2022 iPhone SE
Apple, fresh of the release of its iPhone 16 lineup, is gearing up to give its entry-level iPhone, the SE, a major overhaul. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new SE will ditch the outdated bezels in favor of an all-screen design with Face ID. This means the iconic home button will finally be a thing of the past for Apple’s entire smartphone lineup.
Under the hood, the SE is expected to pack a powerful A18 chip, ensuring it can handle the latest iOS features. While we may not see the Dynamic Island found on the iPhone 14, the SE will still sport a notch for the camera and Face ID sensors. Rumor has it that Apple might also upgrade the display to OLED, offering a more vibrant viewing experience.
iPad Air: A Minor Refresh
The iPad Air is also in line for an update, though it won’t be as dramatic as the iPhone SE. Apple is expected to keep the same chassis design, focusing instead on internal improvements. This could mean a faster processor or upgraded cameras. The accompanying keyboard accessories will likely get a boost as well, potentially adopting features from the iPad Pro Magic Keyboard like a function row and a larger trackpad.
M4 Macs: Coming Soon
Before we see these new iPhones and iPads, Apple is set to unveil its latest M4-powered Macs. The MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini are all expected to get a performance upgrade. Look out for these announcements at an October event, with sales likely starting in November.
