Sony’s June 2025 PlayStation Plus update is here, and honestly, it’s one of the more interesting lineups we’ve seen in a while. Whether you’re into sci-fi shooters, indie chaos, JRPGs with 90s heart, or… train simulators (no judgment), there’s something for every kind of player this month.
The full catalog goes live on June 17, and it’s available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. Here’s what’s worth your time and what’s probably just filler.
FBC: Firebreak — The One You Should Actually Play

FBC: Firebreak drops day one into PS Plus and drops you back into the Control universe. But instead of playing the hero, you’re part of the Federal Bureau of Control’s literal cleanup crew—armed to the teeth and elbow-deep in supernatural chaos.
This is Remedy’s first stab at multiplayer, and refreshingly, they’re not trying to build the next battle pass-driven addiction machine. No “log in daily” nonsense. No seasonal gimmicks. Just tight, replayable three-player co-op with that trademark Control weirdness.
Bottom line: If you’re skipping this one, you’re doing PS Plus wrong.
Battlefield 2042 — Still Trying to Redeem Itself
Yes, Battlefield 2042 launched messy. But with a few years of patches and actual content, it’s become… playable. Maybe even good.
You’re looking at massive 128-player warfare, weapon customization that actually matters, and classic modes thanks to Battlefield Portal. EA’s even quietly working on a new Battlefield entry, which makes this addition feel like a teaser move.
Still worth a shot if you want chaotic online fun without the Fortnite pace.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 — For the VR Sadists
If you enjoy scaring yourself half to death in 4K, Help Wanted 2 is here for you. Built for PS VR2, this sequel packs more haunted pizzeria mayhem and deeply uncomfortable animatronics. It’s weirdly polished and surprisingly clever in how it plays with horror tropes, but you’ll need the hardware to fully enjoy the terror.
The Full PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for June 2025

| FBC: Firebreak | PS5 | Don’t skip this. Remedy’s Control-meets-co-op shooter is the real deal. |
| Battlefield 2042 | PS4/PS5 | Still a bit chaotic, but leagues better than launch. Good multiplayer value. |
| Five Nights at Freddy’s: HW2 | PS5 | VR horror done right. Bring a change of pants. |
| Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes | PS4/PS5 | Suikoden DNA with modern polish. Old-school RPG heads will eat this up. |

For the Premium Crowd: Deus Ex: The Conspiracy (PS4/PS5)
This one’s for the old-school heads. The original Deus Ex (via the PS2 port The Conspiracy) lands in the PS Plus Classics catalog and yes, it’s playable on both PS4 and PS5.
If you missed it the first time around, this is where modern immersive sims got their blueprint. Hacking, stealth, conspiracy theories, cyberpunk philosophy, it’s all here. It’s also available as a standalone purchase, so you don’t have to be Premium to grab it.
A must-play if you like your games with brains.
Final Thoughts
Sony’s June lineup isn’t trying to be flashy. It’s focused. Balanced. You’ve got a brand-new Remedy game launching day one. A revamped AAA shooter. A slice of nostalgia. And even a train simulator, because why not?
If you’re a PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium subscriber, this is a month worth diving into. And if you’re not? Honestly, Firebreak alone might justify jumping back in.
