The Western movie genre has been stagnant and not much has been released in recent years. But for all you western lovers, hang tight, cos there is a new movie with a star studded cast that will have you experience a shooting frenzy like no other. Starring Stephen Dorff, Costas Mandylor, Heather Graham, Scarlet Stallone, Tzi Ma, Randall Batinkoff and to top of the list, is none other than Nicholas Cage in “Gunslingers”.

Nicolas Cage has recently showcased two of his finest performances in his first Westerns, The Old Way and Butcher’s Crossing. He now returns to the rugged frontier in Gunslingers, where he portrays a “mad genius” call Ben, an unhinged reformed outlaw who has a spiritual awakening on the road of revenge. Cage is known for his eclectic roles, and it looks like he has landed just the part, sporting a voice that will have you in a spin.

The movie is set in the fictional Kentucky town of Redemption. The narrative follows reformed gunslinger, Thomas Keller (Dorff) and mad genius Ben (Cage) who are guided by spiritual leader Jericho (Mandylor) as they strive for vindication. The scene opens in a saloon, with several people in hot pursuit of Thomas Keller, who is wanted for murder. Keller, now baptised and reborn, grapples with fresh challenges that will test his new found peace in a town steeped in secrets, violence, and a relentless quest for revenge. His violent past quickly catches up with him and as the chase intensifies, Ben, utters, “Praise the Lord.” Confronting his violent history, a brutal bar fight and deadly feud reignites between Thomas, Ben and the notorious Five Points Gang.

The trailer then unfolds with a series of intense gunfights, as Ben fights to defend his town from outsiders. Brothers turn against each other and bullets rip through the town, this lightning-fast gunslinger delivers the ultimate reckoning to those driven by greed. This action-packed Western thriller explores the harsh realities of justice in the Wild West.

Gunslingers is scheduled to make its debut on 11th April in theatres on digital platforms. The film is written and directed by Brian Skiba (Clear Cut, Out of Hand), a fine Western worthy of praise for its special effects. Check out the new trailer for the film below and stay tuned to Geekhub for more Movie and TV  coverage.
