    Happy Gilmore 2: Adam Sandler Returns To The Green

    “Golf just got angry… again.”

    Nearly three decades after Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore first took a hockey stick to the golf course, the beloved underdog is back. Remember the sweet sound of a golf ball rocketing off a driver like it’s been launched from a bazooka? Well Sandler is bringing his signature rage-fuelled swing to Netflix on July 25, 2025. The newly released trailer for Happy Gilmore 2 teases a sequel that balances heartfelt moments with the slapstick humour fans adore, all while introducing a new generation to Happy’s chaotic charm.

    A New Chapter in Happy’s Life

    Directed by Kyle Newacheck and co-written by Sandler and Tim Herlihy, the sequel finds Happy (Adam Sandler) now a washed-up local legend with more beers than birdies under his belt, returning back to the golf course to fund his daughter Vienna’s ballet school tuition. Sunny Sandler steps into the role of Vienna, adding a personal touch to the film. The trailer hints at a more mature Happy, grappling with life’s challenges while still delivering the explosive antics that made him a legend. There’s also a surprising bit of soul in the story, as Happy finds himself mentoring a new generation. Those who grew up on YouTube, not VHS tapes.

    Standout Moments:

    • Happy vs. a self-driving golf cart. Yes, it ends exactly how you think.
    • A mid-trailer slow-mo of Sandler screaming “This is how I putt!” while surrounded by exploding golf balls.
    • An emotional nod to Carl Weathers’ Chubbs that’ll mist your eyes—right before you laugh-cry again.

    Familiar Faces and Fresh Cameos

    Fans will be thrilled to see the return of Christopher McDonald as the ever-smug Shooter McGavin and Julie Bowen as Virginia Venit. The trailer also showcases a star-studded lineup of new faces, including NFL star Travis Kelce, music sensation Bad Bunny, and comedian Ben Stiller. Their appearances promise to inject fresh energy into the franchise. 

    Nostalgia Meets New Laughs

    The trailer is peppered with callbacks to the original film, from Happy’s iconic swing to his Boston Bruins jersey. Yet, it also introduces new comedic elements, ensuring that both longtime fans and newcomers have something to look forward to. The blend of old and new suggests a sequel that honors its roots while carving out its own identity. 

    Geek Verdict:

    The trailer for Happy Gilmore 2 tees up a perfect mix of nostalgic mayhem and modern madness. Sandler brings back the unfiltered charm of the original but with a little more wisdom (and back pain). Whether you’re a die-hard fan of the original or just looking for a feel-good comedy, this sequel promises to deliver laughs, heart, and a whole lot of golf balls.
