The Devil Wears Prada 2: In Production Now!

Fashionistas, rejoice!! the sequel we’ve been waiting for is officially strutting its way to the screen. Cameras are rolling on The Devil Wears Prada 2, with original stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci stepping back into their iconic roles. In a surprise twist, Kenneth Branagh has also joined the high-style ensemble, bringing a new layer of dramatic flair to the world of haute couture.

Nearly two decades after the original film became a cultural phenomenon, Devil Wears Prada 2 picks up with an evolved landscape of fashion and the complicated lives of those who rule it. Streep reprises her role as Miranda Priestly, the icy, imperious editor-in-chief who changed the way moviegoers viewed power suits and pursed lips. Anne Hathaway returns as Andy Sachs, the former assistant who dared to walk away from Runway magazine and is now a force in the digital media world. Emily Blunt is back as Emily Charlton, Miranda’s razor-tongued right hand, while Stanley Tucci brings his scene-stealing energy as Nigel, Runway’s creative director.

Details about the plot are still highly secretive, but sources close to production hint at a clash between old-school publishing and the influencer era, with Miranda navigating an industry where algorithms have replaced editors. Andy, now a prominent journalist with her own platform, finds herself pulled back into Miranda’s orbit for a reason that may blur the lines between personal and professional.

Adding gravitas to the cast is Sir Kenneth Branagh, who could join the cast as the husband of Miranda Presley (Streep). However speculation is rife that he may play a rival media mogul or a new corporate overlord threatening Runway’s reign. The film is being directed by David Frankel, who helmed the original 2006 classic, based on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling novel. Screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, whose whip-smart dialogue powered the first film, has returned to pen the sequel’s script.

Fans have long clamoured for a follow-up, but both Hathaway and Streep had previously expressed reluctance, until now that is. According to insiders, it was the script’s relevance and emotional depth that sealed the deal. “The story isn’t just a nostalgic walk down the runway,” says a production source. “It’s about power, reinvention, and the price of legacy.”

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is expected to hit theatres in late 2026, with a teaser trailer reportedly arriving in early 2026. For now, one thing’s certain: Florals may still not be groundbreaking, but this sequel definitely will be.

After 28 years in corporate life, I swapped spreadsheets for screenplays and now write movie reviews and celebrity articles for Geekhub. It’s been a year of creative freedom, storytelling, and loving what I do—plus the occasional dramatic reaction to plot twists. No more meetings, just movies—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
