Moon Knight: A Forgotten MCU Hero Could Make A Comeback

While not every Marvel hero gets to wear the Iron Man crown, some legends from the MCU’s 15-year saga have stepped up as major players, but plenty have been left in the dust, either thanks to a forgettable solo flick or just not catching the fan hype. Yet, there’s one Marvel gem who already has their own movie but somehow slipped off the MCU radar. The good news? That’s about to flip in Avengers: Doomsday. Oscar Isaac just dropped a major hint that our cult-fave, Moon Knight, is gearing up for a comeback, and that sounds like music to my ears.

Oscar Isaac showed up at San Diego Comic-Con, mingling with fans and signing posters when TikTok user Marcsback asked the big question: Will Moon Knight get that long-awaited Season 2? When Isaac was asked if Season 2 was officially happening (amid all the online rumours), he dropped a bittersweet “Not confirmed.” But then, when pressed about fans wanting more, Isaac teased the crowd in classic cryptic fashion:

“I know, you and me both. We’ll see. Maybe one day… or in a movie, we’ll see him.”

Sure, that’s far from a straight-up “yes,” but it definitely got the fandom buzzing. With Avengers: Doomsday’s cast already packed with over 26 names which is still growing and everyone’s digging for clues on who might show up. The catch? Moon Knight isn’t tied to the Secret Wars comics storyline, nor is he a Doctor Doom nemesis, so it’s unlikely Marc Spector will make a big splash in Doomsday or Secret Wars. Still, Isaac’s hint keeps hope alive that Moon Knight might return to the MCU, maybe in a different way.

While Marc and his multiple personalities might not be crashing Doomsday just yet, fans have plenty to look forward to. The first wave of cast members was announced back in May during an epic, over-three-hour-long reveal. Besides Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, fan favourites like Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), and Tom Hiddleston (Loki) are all back in action. The movie’s also bringing some of the MCU’s forgotten stars back into the spotlight. Hello, Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi and Tenoch Huerta Mejia’s Namor (who’s more anti-hero/villain than hero). Oh, and the OG X-Men legends Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammar, and Alan Cumming are returning too.

Mark your calendars: Avengers: Doomsday hits theatres December 18, 2026. And if you need a refresher before then, Moon Knight is streaming now on Disney

After 28 years in corporate life, I swapped spreadsheets for screenplays and now write movie reviews and celebrity articles for Geekhub. It’s been a year of creative freedom, storytelling, and loving what I do—plus the occasional dramatic reaction to plot twists. No more meetings, just movies—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
