rAGE Expo 2025: Tech, Tattoos and Tournament Madness

So I finally made my grand entrance into the rAGE Expo 2025, and let me tell you, the place was bursting at the seams with gadgets, gizmos, and enough shiny tech to make any geek shield their eyes in finding their way.

Every corner had something begging for attention. From LEDs flashing, screens screaming, crowds vibing and geeky art just staring at you in every corner, this expo was definitely competing for gold.

The cosplay scene? Honestly, a show on its own. From anime icons to superheroes to wannabe’s the creativity was insane. And then there is always that one person who goes too far, but hey, you gotta respect the commitment.

For tattoo and piercing enthusiasts, tattoo booths and piercing stations were readily available. Want a sleeve? A tiny ankle heart? A ring through some body part just to make a statement? They had you. Honestly, if your skin left that place unaltered, that was a personal choice.

If gaming is your love language, this was your paradise. Live tournaments hyped the air, and I mean live. The kind that makes grown adults scream like it’s the World Cup. “Beat the Pro” challenges humbled more than a few brave souls, and the “King of the Hill” setups? All chaotic, beautiful and hilariously competitive.

Luckily, not everything was about proving your worth as a digital warrior. The family and casual zones came with:

    • Chill gaming stations
    • LEGO areas where even adults pretended they were “helping the kids”
    • Creative corners for the artsy types
    • And blissful safe spaces to hide from that one friend determined to drag you to every single tech demo, just so you could say you were there.

Honestly, bless the organisers for understanding that sometimes you need a breather… and a place to pretend you didn’t hear someone calling your name.

Food inside the expo was limited. But Fourways Mall did what Fourways Mall does best, by offering 500 options two escalators away. So yes, you could technically get anything you wanted to eat… after escaping the labyrinth of gamers, merch stands, and people wearing wings.

Everyone was polite, friendly, and in a genuinely festive mood. But let’s be real, the space was hot. Not “summer day, cute sundress” hot. More like “sauna you didn’t sign up for” hot. If you stayed from morning till late, you absolutely earned a shower. Maybe two. Maybe a full baptism.

rAGE Expo 2025 was chaotic, colourful, sweaty, geeky, and gloriously fun, exactly what a gaming and tech expo should be. Go for the gadgets, stay for the cosplay, avoid eye contact with the tattoo guns and hydrate like your life depends on it.

After 28 years in corporate life, I swapped spreadsheets for screenplays and now write movie reviews and celebrity articles for Geekhub. It’s been a year of creative freedom, storytelling, and loving what I do—plus the occasional dramatic reaction to plot twists. No more meetings, just movies—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
