Users around the world have been reporting issues with WhatsApp starting around 5:10pm South African. This is around the same time that issues reporting started to spike on downdetector.com. South African whatsapp users also experienced issues with WhatsApp, from the inability to send or recieve messages, to the app contuniously loading. As at the time of this post, most users in South Africa seem to be back online. At this moment we are unsure what has caused the outage, but it seems to be a worldwide issue.
