ASUS Won 41 Red Dot Design Awards — Which Is Kinda Ridiculous (In a Good Way)

Honestly, most tech design awards fly under the radar. A new laptop wins some award in Germany and we all move on. But then ASUS came along and casually scooped up 41 Red Dot Design Awards for 2025 like it was collecting snacks at a buffet. That’s FOURTY ONE awards across everything from high-end gaming laptops and OLED monitors to smartphones and a freaking backpack!

    So, what’s going on here?

Design-First — and Not Just for Show

If you’ve followed ASUS over the past few years, you’ll know they’ve been slowly (and pretty effectively) turning themselves into one of the most design-conscious tech brands out there. What started with the sleek Zenbooks and bold ROG gear has clearly bled into the rest of their product range. This year, that design obsession paid off in a big way at the Red Dot Awards, one of the most respected international design competitions around. ASUS didn’t just take home a few shiny plaques. They totally dominated.

    Where Did They Win?

The 41 awards cut across five product categories, and it’s a wild mix:

    • 35 in Computer and IT (your laptops, desktops, components, etc.)
    • 3 in Mobile Phones, Tablets and Wearables
    • 1 for Luggage and Bags
    • 1 in TV and Home Entertainment
    • 1 in Communication Tech ( routers, networking gear)

Translation: if ASUS makes it, it probably just won an award.

    Some of the Standouts

Not everything ASUS makes is flashy, but their Red Dot lineup this year had a few products that definitely turned heads:

    • Zenbook S 14/16 – Thin, light, minimal, and actually feels premium without the Apple tax.
    • ROG Strix Scar 16/18 – Overkill for most people, but if you’re into high-end gaming laptops that scream performance and style, this is it.
    • Zenfone 12 Ultra – ASUS continues to be quietly great at smartphones, especially if you like clean Android with top-tier specs.
    • ROG Swift OLED displays – These look unreal in person. ASUS is betting big on OLED for gaming and creative work, and it’s paying off.
    • ProArt Z890 Creator WiFi motherboard – Yeah, even motherboards can be sexy now.
    • RT-BE58 Go Router – Because your Wi-Fi gear doesn’t need to look like an alien insect anymore.

Even the ROG SLASH backpack made the list. Just insane!

    So What’s the Big Deal?

Awards are cool and all, but they’re not everything. That said, 41 wins at this level isn’t just a marketing line, but it’ sends a message. ASUS is taking design seriously, not just for their flagship stuff, but across their entire product lineup. It’s not just “make it fast and cheap,” it’s “make it smart, make it usable, and make it look damn good while doing it.”

The Red Dot jury, made up of 43 design experts from 21 countries,  test and evaluate everything hands-on. These guys are not just handing out gold stars for effort. ASUS earned this.

    Final Thought

It’s easy to get jaded with tech. Specs blur together, brands copy each other, and true innovation gets buried under marketing BS. But when a company quietly racks up 41 legit design awards across nearly every category it competes in? That’s worth paying attention to.

ASUS certainly isn’t perfect, but right now, they’re one of the few brands that consistently show up with products that feel like someone actually gave a damn.

If you’re curious, the full winners list drops on July 8. Until then, just know this — if you’re buying an ASUS product this year, chances are it’s award winning.
