Comic Con Africa 2026 Is Almost Sold Out. We Have Three Double Tickets to Give Away.

Weekend tickets to Comic Con Africa 2026 are 98% sold and the Saturday has only 5% left. Which makes the three double tickets sitting in the Geekhub inbox a great deal more interesting than they were a week ago, and every single one of them is going to a reader.

Comic Con Africa with Capitec returns to the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec from Thursday 24 to Sunday 27 September for its seventh edition, running 09:00 to 18:00 daily and expecting around 70,000 people through the doors. The tickets we are giving away are for the Friday. No purchase, no catch, and no need to tag seventeen friends in the comments section.

Why Friday is the best day of the four

The organisers’ own numbers make the case better than we can. Saturday sits at 95% sold, Thursday at 60%, and Friday at 51%, which means the Friday runs the identical show without the craziness. Anyone who has queued forty minutes for a photo op on a Saturday afternoon understands immediately what that is worth.

Heritage Day falls on the Thursday, so the 25th is the bridge day, and it lands in the sweet spot where the show is running at full tilt but Artist Alley has not yet turned into a rugby maul. It is the day you actually get to browse the tables, talk to the artists, play the tournaments without being elbowed, and get a cosplay photo without eleven strangers in the background. It is also a proper guest day, with Christopher Judge, the voice of Kratos, appearing from the Friday onward alongside Alison Sealy-Smith and the Rick and Morty cast.

    What you are playing for

    • Three double Tickets, so three winners, each bringing someone along.
    • Valid for Friday 25 September 2026 only, Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec.
    • Face value of R270 per ticket, so R540 a pair, on a show that is nearly sold out.
    • Bring whoever you want. Partner, best mate, the cousin who has been threatening to cosplay since March.

How to enter, and it takes about forty seconds

Fill in the form below. That is your entry, logged and counted, and you are done. We need a name, an email address and a number so we can reach you if you win, plus one question about what you would come dressed as, which is purely for our own entertainment and possibly a follow-up post.

Three code words, three extra entries

One entry gets you into the draw. Four gets you considerably further, and collecting them takes about five minutes.

Hidden in the body of three Geekhub articles is a single code word each. Find one, come back, drop it into the code word field on the form, and that is one extra entry banked. There is no trick to it and nothing is buried in the footer. Read the piece, the word is sitting in a normal sentence somewhere in the middle.

Code one is in Kratos is coming to South Africa as Christopher Judge joins Comic Con Africa 2026

Code two is in Comic Con: Rick and Morty Fans Just Got Great News

Code three drops in early September, inside our full Comic Con Africa 2026 survival guide. Bookmark this page or watch our socials, because that one is worth coming back for.

You can submit once per day, so grab both codes now and come back for the third when it lands. Codes stay valid right up until entries close.

    The dates that matter

    • Entries open: Thursday 27 August 2026
    • Third code drops: early September, in the survival guide
    • Entries close: Monday 14 September 2026, 12:00 sharp
    • Winners announced: Monday 14 September 2026, 18:00, right here on Geekhub
    • The main event: Friday 25 September 2026, Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec

Winners go up in a post on this site at six that evening and get contacted directly the same day, so keep an eye on your inbox and your WhatsApp. You have twenty four hours to confirm before we draw a replacement, which sounds harsh but the tickets have to be in real hands before the doors open.

The fine print, in plain language

    • Entry is free and always will be. Anyone asking you to pay for a Geekhub competition is running a scam.
    • You must be 18 or older and living in South Africa.
    • Tickets cover entry only. Getting to Nasrec, the parking, food and everything you are inevitably going to buy in Artist Alley are on you.
    • Tickets are not transferable and there is no cash alternative.
    • Geekhub staff, contributors and sponsor employees, plus their immediate families, cannot enter.
    • Full terms are on the competition rules page, free to read, no sign-up wall.

Good luck. See you on the floor.
