Troll 2: A New Troll Is On The Loose

The mountain wakes once more. Netflix has officially unveiled the first teaser for Troll 2, the eagerly awaited sequel to its 2022 Norwegian sensation that stomped its way into the record books as the most-watched non-English film on the platform. And if this brief yet booming glimpse is anything to go by, the sequel promises an even wilder clash between myth and modernity.

The teaser opens on a snow-swept wilderness, eerily silent… until the ground quakes. A slow, monstrous shadow falls over a Nordic military convoy. Then…a single, spine-chilling roar. In just under a minute, Troll 2 reminds viewers exactly what made the first film such a global hit. Jaw-dropping visuals, a chilling atmosphere, and the primal thrill of ancient legends smashing into our world.

The teaser offers a glimpse into the next chapter of the saga, which sees the return of beloved characters Nora (Ine Marie Wilmann), Andreas (Kim Falck) and Captain Kris (Mads Sjøgård Pettersen), alongside newcomer Marion (Sara Khorami).

Director Roar Uthaug (returning for the sequel) has raised the stakes, the spectacle, and the mythology. While plot details remain undisclosed, hints of a darker tone flicker through the teaser’s sweeping shots and frantic urgency. And yes, our towering titular troll seems angrier than ever. What made the original Troll so resonant was its uniquely Scandinavian take on monster cinema, blending folklore with environmental subtext and national identity.

If Troll 2 keeps that heart while expanding its cinematic scale, we could be in for a mythic showdown of epic proportions. Whether you were drawn in by the first film’s creature-feature thrills or its folkloric soul, Troll 2 looks ready to shake the streaming world once again. One thing’s certain: Norway’s biggest export is back, and it’s insane.

    Verdict:
The teaser stomps in with menace, mystery, and myth. A tantalising return to a world where legends are very real, and they don’t take kindly to being disturbed.

After 28 years in corporate life, I swapped spreadsheets for screenplays and now write movie reviews and celebrity articles for Geekhub. It’s been a year of creative freedom, storytelling, and loving what I do—plus the occasional dramatic reaction to plot twists. No more meetings, just movies—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
