July 2026 Movies: Which One Are You Waiting For?

Movie posters for the biggest theatrical releases arriving in July 2026, including Spider-Man: Brand New Day, The Odyssey and Moana.

July is shaping up to be one of the biggest months at the cinema this year. Between family blockbusters, horror, historical epics, superheroes, and one of Christopher Nolan’s most ambitious films, there’s something for almost every kind of moviegoer.

    Minions & Monsters

    Release: July 1

Gru and his lovable yellow chaos machines return for another adventure that throws them into classic monster movie territory. Expect plenty of slapstick comedy, family-friendly action, and enough Minion gibberish to make adults laugh almost as much as the kids. So If you’ve enjoyed the Despicable Me films, you’ll probably have a blast. The Minions remain one of animation’s safest bets for family entertainment. It probably won’t reinvent the franchise, but it doesn’t really need to.

    Young Washington

    Release: July 3

Before becoming America’s first president, a young George Washington played by William Franklyn-Miller must tests his honour, loyalty and courage by surviving a Revolutionary War. As alliances crumble and the frontier erupts into battle, he must confront not only his enemies, but the man he’s becoming.

History lovers will likely appreciate it more than casual audiences. If the film balances character drama with large-scale battles, it could be one of July’s hidden surprises.

    Watch The Trailer Here:

    Moana

    Release: July 9

Disney brings its beloved animated classic to life as Moana played by Catherine Laga’aiaby sail once again to save her people. She is joined by Dwayne Johnson the larger-than-life demigod Maui. The supporting cast is made up of John Tui, Frankie Adams and Rena Owen. Disney has a mixed record with live-action remakes, but Johnson stepping back into Maui’s tattoo-covered sandals gives this one a solid foundation. If the music lands, we can expect it to be all the rage.

    Evil Dead Burn

    Release: July 10

Another chapter in the Evil Dead universe unleashes the Deadites on an unsuspecting family gathering. After the loss of her husband, a grieving woman seeks solace with her in-laws at their secluded family home. However, it soon becomes a reunion from hell as the Book of the Dead unleashes demonic forces that transform them into Deadites one by one. Mixing gruesome horror with the franchise’s trademark dark humour. f you’re an Evil Dead fan, this is probably already on your calendar. The franchise has enjoyed an impressive resurgence over the last few years.

    Watch The Trailer Here:

    The Odyssey

    Release: July 17

Christopher Nolan adapts The Odyssey into what promises to be an enormous mythological adventure following Odysseus’ long journey home after the Trojan War. Odysseus embarks on a dangerous voyage back to Ithaca, encountering treacherous creatures like the Cyclops Polyphemus and Sirens. This is arguably the movie of July. Nolan has assembled one of the strongest casts of the year, and watching one of cinema’s greatest directors tackle Greek mythology on an IMAX scale sounds irresistible.

The cast includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway and Jon Bernthal

    Watch The Trailer Here:

    Spider-Man: Brand New Day

    Release: July 31

Peter Parker played by Tom Holland returns following the events that erased his identity from everyone’s memory. With his life reset, he’ll face dangerous new enemies while rebuilding everything from scratch. He has devoted his life to protecting New York City as a full-time Spider-Man. But as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he’s ever faced. This has blockbuster written all over it. After the emotional ending of No Way Home, fans are eager to see a more grounded Peter Parker. Expect this to dominate the box office.

The cast includes Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Krondon, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando and Luke Goss

    Watch The Trailer Here:

If I had to recommend only three movies to spend your money on this month, they’d be The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Moana. Between Nolan’s epic spectacle, Marvel’s biggest summer release, and Disney’s family crowd-pleaser, July looks packed with films that are likely to dominate conversations long after the credits roll.
